The friendliest restaurant on the planet! I love this place. Yes the food is very good, with the diverse mixture of dishes you expect to see in any good Chinese restaurant. I can highly recommend the beef and oyster sauce.
What really makes it for me are the staff. They're so friendly, cheerful and enthusiastic about what they do. In particular the more mature waiter (he could be the owner) with the slightly straggly moustache. He shakes every customer by the hand, fusses over them, and always with a warm smile. He's also extremely chatty, though I've never really understood a word he has said. Still we seem to get on well.
He's so passionate about the food and making sure his customers are having a good time. For me, this kind of care makes the Oakwood Palace such a special place. -

Food was rather greasy and had no chicken balls (seriously what Chinese doesn't serve chicken balls). It was all rather grim and they must get most of their custom from
Commuters that are starving hungry and are willing to eat anything.
I shall not be returning unless I too am

As a US citizen studying abroad at Middlesex University in Northern London, it was no lie that I had a hard time eating the local British food at the school cafeteria. Luckily for me, I found Oakwood Palace on my way to the tube station. It was very very good and the service was great. Very funny man, I can't remember his name, but great hospitality. So, to any of you other students studying at Middlesex and looking for some good "take away", check this place out! (you get these free prawn chip type things...we weren't sure exactly what they were but they were free!)
